Friday’s Feast – Texas Style

The chef is having technical difficulties, so Texas Tanya provided today’s feast. Enjoy!

Appetizer
When was the last time you had some bar-b-que?
Real BBQ – it’s been a long time, maybe since the spring… Grilled food, though, I had about a week ago.

Soup
How many pairs of cowboy boots do you own?
Not a single one. My Texan roots aren’t showing very strong, are they?

Salad
Finish this sentence: Mommas, don’t let your babies __________.
Mommas, don’t let your babies play in the street.

Main Course
Name a song that makes you think of Texas.
The Yellow Rose of Texas.

Dessert
Cowboy hats – Black or White?
I didn’t realize these were the main choices in cowboys hats. I guess I’ll choose white because it’s hot in Texas and that will reflect the light rather than absorb it all.

Friday’s Feast

Appetizer
When was the last time you had your hair cut/trimmed?
I think it was in April, but it could’ve been at Christmas. I have long hair and don’t need much in the way of cutting to keep it that way.

Soup
Name one thing you miss about being a child.
Not minding cold water or cold weather and playing in them until forced to stop.

Salad
Pick one: butter, margarine, olive oil.
Normally, I’d choose butter, but in my dairy-free world that is off limits so I’ll have to go with olive oil.

Main Course
If you could learn another language, which one would you pick, and why?
Mandarin Chinese, because it would enable me to communicate with the most people and expand my phonetic vocabulary the most.

Dessert
Finish this sentence: In 5 years I expect to be…
a little bit wiser.

Do you consider yourself to be an optimist or a pessimist? Pessimist

Soup

What is your favorite color of ink to write with? Purple

Salad

How often do you get a manicure or pedicure? Do you do them yourself or go to a salon and pay for them? A couple times a year, I go to the salon with gift cards and enjoy every second of it.

Main Course

Have you ever won anything online? If so, what was it? Does an eBay auction count… otherwise, not one thing.

Dessert

In which room in your house do you keep your home computer? Kids’ playroom/office/dining room – it’s the room that originally was the 3rd bedroom. We used it as a dining room when we moved in and converted it to a playroom when toys started taking over the house.

When you drink soda/pop/coke, do you prefer to drink it from the bottle, a can, or after pouring it into a cup?
I rarely drink pop, but when I do it is Diet Caffeine-Free Coke (or orange pop) from a can.

Soup
What television show are you willing to stay up late to watch?
Bravo’s Top Chef, but sadly we don’t have cable anymore and youtube got rid of all the episodes there.

Salad
Name one person, place, or thing you think of as brilliant.
My true, if cheesy, answer is my hubby, Brian. He really is brilliant, not just in brain-smarts, but artistically too with a brilliant sense of humor!

Main Course
Would you be willing to work 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour days in order to save gas?
I work 7 24-hour days, but it doesn’t save much money. My husband works 5 10+ hour days, but I’d be very willing for him to work 4 days instead, especially if it also saved us money.

Dessert
If you were a superhero, what would you call yourself?
Emogirl

Soup

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets? I can keep secrets except from my husband. So, I guess that would be an 8 or 9.

Describe your hair (color, texture, length). I have long (to the middle of my back) very fine and straight naturally blond hair, getting darker with age, but colored to have some reddish highlights.

Main Course

What kind of driver are you? Courteous? Aggressive? Slow? Lucky. My driving is very much influenced by my emotions and mood at the time as well as if I am running late, which I usually am.

I sure do. Even the suggestion has me smiling right now.

Hardwood throughout the house, except in the kitchen (laminate, I think) and bathroom (a wonderful 1950s shade of green and black tile).

Surely, sometimes snakes slither slowly.

Main Course

Dessert
